For the opening event of this year’s "Code Week Hamburg" we transformed the basement hall of the public library of Hamburg into a playground and fair for children to explore opportunities of coding. There were six already existing columns that we increased by eight scaffolding poles. Those held the main structure to the fair booths. Multiple sets of yellow tension belts were placed horizontally, spanning through the room in different heights. The belts held big pink carpets that functioned as markers for the info points and hands-on areas for kids.

The 500 sqm space was transformed into a joyful experience hub for the young and old visitors to play, explore and investigate the numerous offerings of Code Week Hamburg.

On the top floor, where visitors were guided to by yellow circuit board lines, there were workshop spaces and a huge interactive map with all the workshops happening during the two weeks of Code Week Hamburg.

CODEWEEK was the scenography for the opening event of Code Week Hamburg 2019. Code Week is a Europe-wide education project for children to learn about and experience coding. The Hamburg version is organized by Körber Stiftung and Bücherhallen Hamburg.
