MOMENTUM

After a three-year break (last edition 2019: STORNO), the Fuchsbau Festival returned in 2022 - under the title Against Time. With our stage scenography Momentum we question the festival motto in spatial terms: How does a space escape its temporal order? How do we deprive time of its space?

We answer these questions in snapshots of entrances as spatio-temporal thresholds: the entrance to the stage is from below - an instantaneous rising from the depths; the bar is set into a hole whose surrounding walls seem borderless. These central thresholds are accompanied by installations in which time oscillates between acceleration and corrosion.

Stylistically, the basic setting, kept in earth tones, is broken by colorful, mobile barrier grids - a spatial imprisonment of time in too large meshes. The central object, which provides a visual contrast to Momentum's otherwise darkness-shrouded, contourless spacetime structure: a light pendulum that formed a fleeting circle of light as a hyperactive star while casting circling shadows on the action. Again: Time is - literally - light years ahead of us, even the shadows can't keep up.

We realized MOMENTUM in the context of theFuchsbau Festivals 2022 in Hannover. During the Festival the visual Artist Lilly Urbat of Prizesin Haralt played the stage-screen. The neatly curated program consisted amongst others of: Andras2020, Authentically Plastic, Giant Swan, JASSS, Keyk, Métaraph, Sinthujan Varatharajah, Tá-me Doer (Marga Alfeirão), und Vanitas (Jules Fischer).
