… dreams about girls

With "... dreams about girls" the Berlin artist Katharina Haverich constructed an open setting between two worlds: Using violent dream motifs of women, she created a transmedia performance installation in a multidisciplinary collection of performing arts — an eclectic playground of performing objects and bodies. 

A drummer driving in circles on a pedestal, fragments of bog and peat blocks, old fabrics with traces from nature, screens, ropes, quirky VR goggles, and a car filled with five dancers that breaks under the destructiveness of the audience.In the context of the performance we developed space-specific scenographies: for the video shootings we conceived and realized the costume design, for the performance as well as installation space the stage design and also consulted on the design of the virtual reality space. We quoted selected elements from nature and technology and collaged artificial-organic with functional-pragmatic aesthetics. In this way, we built a scenographic bridge between analog and digital spatial concepts, which all intertwined in the performance and installation space for the audience. And as part of the performance, we invited the participants to destroy cars.

The performance and installation work "... dreams about girls" by Katharina Haverich was created in the context of a research, as work in progress. The presentations took place on 18.09. and 19.09.2021 from 15 and 20 o'clock in the Berlin Spreehalle.
