Glühorgel

Thirty light bulbs, placed in the trees could be activated by noise — either by the mesmerizing sounds of the surrounding festival events or by lovely visitors. Microphones, held by a wooden base, recorded the sound the environments and the participants contributed. This sound then was converted into electric power to light the bulbs.

In order to light up the entire space marked by light sources, the participants had to interact with the Glühorgel via their own voices. Their sound activated the light installation.

Since the mics were placed in a broader circle, one person alone could never flash up Glühorgel on her*his own but had to look for accomplices. When fully illuminated by a spontaneous choir of voices, the defined space changed radically from dark to bright.

Our Glühorgel installation was shown in 2014 at Feel Festival and Rocken am Brocken Festival and Fuchsbau Festival.
