CASH CLUB

The three-year CASH CLUB project by the theater collective Frauen und Fiktion kicked off with a poster campaign in Hamburg promoting the symposium of the same name and a podcast. The project, which is largely based on interviews about women's economic biographies, will culminate in a stage production as a follow-up project. Together with Felina Levits and Paula Reissig, we supervised the creation of the posters and provided the scenography for the subsequent symposium at the LICHTHOF Theater in Hamburg.

The central motif of the posters were five staged photographs that illustrated the topics of the interviews and the podcast. Embedded in a graphic design that found its playful inspiration in the imagery of the shady stock trading, five large-format posters were created and displayed in Hamburg's urban space. The scenographic design of the symposium transported the visual narratives of the posters into the physical space and allowed visitors to immerse themselves in a designed world in which they were able to discuss topics such as financial provision and classism.

In order to visually reflect the complexity and subjectivity of the topic of money, we decided to arrange highly symbolic still lifes in which hands acted as protagonists. We placed our hidden object-like, visual disruptors between common advertising posters, inviting a critical and reflective examination of money as part of the symposium.

The poster campaign for the CASH CLUB project was shown in Hamburg at the end of April 2023. The symposium took place from 05.05. - 07.05.2023 at the LICHTHOF Theater in Hamburg.
